Overview
The Floriculture CDE requires students to identify plants, judge flower arrangements and solve problems. Participants also demonstrate skills in flower arranging, propagation and the preparation of floral and foliage products for sale.

2024 Contest Information
The Floriculture Career Development Event is held at the Virginia FFA State Convention.

Location: Greenhouse Classroom Building
Date: TBD
Time: Meet outside the GH Classroom Building at 8:00 AM.

Arrangement Scenario Guidelines for 2024:
Your school is abuzz with the exciting news of a faculty member’s recent engagement!  You are the senior designer in your school’s floral and greenhouse shop.  Your advisor has just requested that you complete a centerpiece design that will be used on a celebratory luncheon table for the faculty member in your school who just announced their engagement. As the senior designer, your advisor has allowed you the creative freedom to use whatever product you would like in the design.

Eligibility
Active FFA members from the same chapter in grades 7-12 may constitute a team of four members.

New for 2024
There will be a preliminary round and an advancement round to this year's event. This may occur over one day or two (TBD). Arrangements and/or other practicum activities will be completed during the advancement stage ("Day 2") of the event.
