Virginia FFA Association
At the state level, Virginia FFA is led by a board of directors , student state officers and an Executive Director. Together they act on recommendations from the state convention student delegates and agricultural education's stakeholders to set the vision and policy for Virginia FFA. The Virginia FFA Association functions within the constitution of the National FFA Organization but has its own individual leadership structures, awards, programs and competitions. State FFA officers lead the membership of the state association and are elected by state FFA convention delegates. Local FFA Chapters are chartered through the state association.

Local FFA Chapters
The heart of the FFA is at the local chapter level. FFA chapter may be chartered in any public school with an agricultural education program. Leadership is provided by student officers who are elected each year by the chapter’s members, and by the agriculture teacher who serves as the advisor for the chapter.

Virginia FFA Areas
Local chapters in Virginia are grouped by geographic proximity into FFA Areas. There are currently six FFA areas in Virginia: Appalachian, Blue Ridge, Central, Northern, Southeast, and South Ridge. These areas are used for program and event purposes and allow members to gain practice, experience, and a network before advancing to the state level. Each area is coordinated by local FFA advisors and members.
